Hide Windows 10 Taskbar in Full Screen Youtube Video on Chrome or Firefox

Sometimes in Windows 10 Chrome or Firefox, whenever you try to play a full-screen Youtube video, the taskbar still shows and does not auto-hide. Here’s how you can fix it;

Close all browsers and press Ctrl+Alt+Del keyboard buttons simultaneously to bring up Task Manager window. Click “Task Manager” from the menu;

In the next window, right-click “Windows Explorer” in the Processes tab, and select “Restart” option;

Next, play Youtube video in full screen in Chrome or Firefox to verify if the issued is fixed. If not, then you can go to Chrome or Firefox browser forums and post your specific issue there.

  1. Whenever this happens to me, I used to go into Taskbar settings and switch option for it to hide automatically, then when Sign Out or Restart PC when finished for the day & when log back in, I change the option back…

    BUT NOW, thanks to this article, I’ll be restarting Windows Explorer via Task Manager, as this solves the issue without the need to Sign Out / Restart to Login again for the issue to be fixed!

    Cheers ~ issue quickly solved 👍👍

  2. I’m actually looking for a way to show the taskbar in fullscreen if I want. On my Surface I can make it happen when I double tap the windows key, if I want to hide it again I press the windows key, wait a second, and with a second press it hides again. Om my PC this doesnt work. I like to have the option for things like whatsapp, to see if I have a message from a group that I’ve blocked. I guess its just a useful bug on my Surface.

    1. You did not follow this instruction in the end;
