I don’t expect people to like me right away since I believe in giving others all the time in this world to get to know me first before jumping to say “I love you Amir”. Pondering that, I noticed something strange in my E-mail inbox when hundreds of people suddenly started following my totally uninteresting blog for strangers out there;

Out of curiosity, I dug deeper into my WordPress.com hosted blog’s Email Followers list and was taken aback by more followers than I had expected. When I googled their domain names, they all turned out to be cheap advertisers or non-existent domains.

Upon digging more, I realized whenever people boldly (foolishly, of course) try to add a widget of their blog followers, these SPAM advertisers and scammers feature their faces or their products/services like below totally for free and without the knowledge of the actual WordPress.com blog/website owner;

Since there is no such option to remove these E-mail followers in bulk or turn this thing completely off, hence the only option is to remove their individual E-mails from the followers list manually in the WordPress.com dashboard’s Users –> E-mail followers list.
