Whenever you see this type of error while trying to use a URL i.e. https://wa.me/14074341786, you can use either of the two solutions presented here;
Open URL:whatsapp? https://api.whatsapp.com wants to open this application. Always allow api.whatsapp.com to open links of this type in the associated app.
Open URL:whatsapp
Continue to Chat
Solution 1
Click “Cancel” button;
Right-click “Continue to Chat” and select “Open link in new tab”;
Type your message in the text box and click “Send” button.
Solution 2
Click three dots on the top right-hand corner and select “Settings”;
Click “Privacy and security” and select “Site Settings”;
Under “Content”, click “JavaScript”;
Under “Customized behaviors”, click “Add” button next to “Not allowed to use JavaScript”;
Type “api.whatsapp.com” and click “Add” button to continue;
Your recently added link should be visible under “Not allowed to use JavaScript” category;
Next, start your Chrome browser and type https://wa.me/phonenumber and you won’t see that JavaScript error. Click “Continue to Chat” button;
Now, you should be able to type your desired message in the text box and send it easily.
